Removing copyright

Removing copyright and adding my photos

Firstly  the website template had its own images and because It now my work I had to remove the copyrighted images and add images from my work that I have done this year

I added all my work from this year year and I changed the name to graphic work because I want that subject to be seen first. The bottom part of the page is a gallery which I kept because I like the look of it and I added a slideshow of images at the top so I'm not exactly copying the template and its something different and interactive.

This is the nature section of the template with their own images therefore I removed the content to remove any copyright and other issues. Furthermore to show my own work a swell

As you can see I have kept the double image gallery at the top but I have changed it by stretching some images and adding a small gallery which holds 8 photos I have done this to add my own style and design to the page also to show my best photography pieces and make them eye-catching instead of them all being the same size which is dull.

This is the urban section of the template that I have used and removed all the images from this so there is no issues.

I have changed this and added video-work , I have shown to of my best video works I have produced this year. I put the videos on-top of each other to make it look more structured

Website template

                                                                My Template

This is the template I chose for my website design because it stood out the most on the website Especially the title/name Also the gallery on the page caught my eye because I'm going to add photos of my work therefore the gallery would be helpful for me and my ideas

When looking at the website it looks colorful and professional . Furthermore the subheading to navigate to another page caught my attention (home, nature, urban) because I could change them to (graphic work, photography, videos).

Evaluation (930 words)

                                                                   Evaluation

At the start of our project we was given a task which was to create our own portfolio on a website named wix.com this website is used around the world and is suitable for anyone, any age, and whatever you want your website to be about for example, business, education, awareness in this case my one was of all of my best work I have produced this year. I had to add images of my work from all the different subjects I study which is graphics, photography, video-work, and bio. We had to choose a template we like and edit it to make it look like our own and design it to our liking.

Firstly we had to do research into other websites that are based around photography one of the people I researched was Yoo Na Mi who is a Korean photographer and an artist when first viewing Her website it looked very interesting and her photos was structured in her gallery where it was in rows of 3 This helped me get some ideas of how I could lay out my photos on my website, The background on her website was dark, I liked this because this meant that the photos stood out more because of the black background. The title was in big and bold writing at the top left hand of her page with her name, this helped me also because I too added my name in big bold writing when producing my website. The second research I done was an artist/photographer called Joni Mitchell her website seemed interactive and also had her name as the title and in big and bold writing, her photos was laid out one by one. My third artist website research I done was The Gordon Parks Foundation the website was simple and eye-catching with a white background and black writing, it had a black and white theme, also the photos was structured in rows of four. This helped me when deciding what background color I should have and what color my texts would be (in this case I chose to do a white background and black writing).

After this we had to look for a template and when looking for a template it was hard for me because there was a variety of templates on the website, the template I chose stood out to me from all of them this is because it had a name as the title and it was very big and bold also it had a subtitle underneath it which I also liked. It looked professional also
the subheading to navigate to another page caught my attention (home, nature, urban) because I could change them to (graphic work, photography, videos) and  another thing that caught my attention was how the images where very structured and was in rows. It had a stylish design to it.

When I chose my template was creating the Bio, on my Bio I added my name and where I live and where I study also my age this is to tell the viewers a little more about me. I have also added all the different type of cameras I have used in my works including my own camera, including all the different editing software’s I have used. Furthermore I have named and listed all the projects I have done this year this is to show examples of my other works and accomplishments. I have also added who inspired me for my website.

The second page on my website I created was the graphics page where I have chosen my best work I have done all year and put them together on a page, I have added a slider on top of the page so when the viewer’s click left or right they can scroll through the slider, I done this to make it more interactive and the images are big on the slider this is so they are eye-catching, also I have made a gallery underneath the slider which is in rows of 3 this makes my website looks professional and structured.

The third page on my website I created was a photography page where I have also added my best works I have done all year which are from, Film Noir, Creatures photography, and extra work I have done throughout the year which are smaller projects. I have stretched some images out on this page this is to make them bigger so they are in front of the viewer’s face as soon as they are on the page. I have made all the images in rows of two and a gallery which is in rows of four. And I have added titles of where I took the images for example (the gallery with four rows on my website the images on that gallery was took at Stone-bridge farm). The final page on my website is a video work page which I have included my film production projects these projects have been displayed onto the website by using a HTML embed widget that the site provides us with.

In conclusion I believe that my portfolio has been successful because In order to create it I have used all of my knowledge from research that I have done and this helped me get ideas and build up my website. Furthermore I have completed all of the subjects I have done this year (Graphic design, photography, video work, bio) my portfolio design is simplistic and professional to viewers. If I was to improve it I would maybe add an animated background just to experiment with.

Your website looks professional and is laid out correctly, - Shaun

Thankyou theres always room for improvement - Me

Videowork

Video Work

I uploaded two of my best videos I have created this year (examples of my film production) I have made it so you can view the videos on the website without going on you-tube, so it is easier for the viewers, you can also view each of the videos on full screen mode.

Bio

Bio

I have shown where I live and which college I attend on my bio, and my age to give the viewers a little sense of who I'am, also I have named all the different cameras I have used this year for my works, Including the editing software's. I have also named all the projects I have done this year to show examples of my other works and accomplishments.

Furthermore I have shown who has inspired me while producing this website which is Yoonami (photographer) and Gordon parks (photographer) they have inspired me through their surreal images and the way their works are structured on their website which has helped me structure my images  on my website.

The link to my website is http://berkayb1313.wix.com/portfolio

I added my Graphic work images that I have done this year, I have chosen mostly my best work pieces I have done and put them all together on this page for everyone to see I have made them in rows of 3 , On the top you can see I have added a slider, I think this is a good way to interact with viewers as they can see my different images by clicking left or right.

I have also added my photography section (some of my best works I have done this year which are from, Film Noir, Creatures photography, and extra work we have done throughout the year including shots from the Harry Potter Studios Tour , I have also included some of my edited photos before and after. this is to show how hard I work and what I produce when I finish editing them.

Research into other websites

http://www.yoonami.com/#!gallery/c199t

This website is a professional photographers website, her gallery layout is very simple this is what makes it eye catching and not too tacky, it looks structured . I might do my website similar when showing photography work. the design and layout is a dark background therefore the images on the gallery stand out and is artsy.

http://jonimitchell.com/

This website gives us a welcoming and an image of the artist/photographer, her names in bold at the top of the page, she has a latest news stand on the home-page to give us her latest works and photographs. I'm going to do mine similar by putting my name at the top of the page. This makes it looks advanced and shows its all your work.

http://www.gordonparksfoundation.org/archive

This website is very interactive and shows us an insight inside the exhibitions/photographs they have took. It is simple and draws in attention I'm going to have rows on my photography page too so I can fit a variety of photographs onto the page.
